 Tell me a little about yourself

I’m a full-time manager (high stress job) in my 50’s with adult children who have left home so my husband and I are doing things for ourselves with fitness and health being the number one goal!

Before you you became a VIP member and joined the Response Mode Program how did you feel about yourself?

I felt flabby, fat and depressed because I’ve always been fit and lean as I’m only 5ft3 or 160cm so any weight gain is noticeable.

It was really hard just getting out of bed on weekends to do anything active.

Once I hit menopause, I couldn’t seem to shake off the extra weight no matter what I tried and it started to also affect my work, relationships and how I felt about myself.

I would try a new diet or fitness plan, do OK, get depressed when I got minimal results and then back would come the wines, the coffee, the chocolates and bad eating.

I used to always sport a bikini but gave that up for the last 2 xmas’s cause I felt so ugh so covered up.

What was the turning point that made you decide – YES I am going to change my body and get into shape

Looking in a full length mirror in a dressing room with excellent lighting and getting a real shock at the cellulite and flab kick started me to get online and find a “real” solution

I knew it had to be a lifestyle change so searched for something that had all of the levers I needed – common sense, reliable advice, whole unprocessed foods, motivational challenges and fitness programmes.

My old bodybuilding eating and nutrition plans were not working because I didn’t have a good base to work from.

I found Response Mode on Facebook!

I read through and joined immediately to the 14 day challenge because I felt it was something short term that I could achieve and trial to see if it was going to work for me.

To be honest, it just made total sense.

So how long have you been following the Response Mode Program?

During the 14 day challenge I started feeling euphoric and on a natural high because I had energy.

Because of the daily emails, my motivation went up and the first thing I would do would be to check the fitness of the day to gear myself up.

The previous night I would plan and cook my meals for the day and prepare my gear for the gym and work.

I didn’t get much of a result on the scales but I did get a noticeable drop in measurements and body fat so it made me even more inspired to keep going.

I THEN SIGNED UP to the Response Mode Program with even more progress with a scale drop and measurement drop.

So 5 weeks later, I had a before and after photo that showed a big decrease in body fat.

Wow, amazing – so guess what I signed up for next?

VIP membership and the Boot Camp challenge.

This is my 7th week so far and I am pretty proud of myself for sticking with it and getting towards my body fat goal of 18% body fat and 54kg (119.05 lbs).

I have lost 3.2kg (7.05 lbs) and 26.4 total cms (10.4 inches) – most of it seems to have come off my stomach (take a look at the photos).

I have a way to go yet, but can’t wait to hit my ultimate.


Tell me about some of physical changes that you have noticed on the program?

The biggest change is in my body composition and the amount of body fat that I have lost.

I can no longer pick up my stomach rolls and knead them like dough.

I have also lost most of the cellulite that I was carrying around the thighs, butt and stomach area.

My energy levels are great and I no longer get the afternoon slump.

I look forward to my food and don’t carry around any guilt about what I eat.

I love Superclean Choc Bliss Balls and peppermint tea and there are some great recipes to try such as the Pudding brekkie jar (and it’s pink) or the coconut love bites – yum


What are the biggest positive changes you have noticed as a result of the being part of the program?

I look and feel so much better

it’s unbelievable the type of change I have gained in such a short amount of time.

I did triathlons for nearly 2 years and while I lost some weight, I still looked chunky and flabby with yoyo eating and low energy. I also spent a lot of $…

What part of your body did you want to change the most?

At the moment it’s my thighs as I seemed to have had a wonderful overall body fat drop so my stomach no longer protrudes and gets me upset when I look at it or try and squash it into jeans!

I reckon I can get a six pack again too.

Where do you do your workouts – home or gym and how do you fit them in your schedule esp with a little one running around

I go to the gym 4 days a week in the morning and I do karate 2 times a week for 90 mins with one rest and recovery day.

My overall fitness and strength in karate has dramatically increased as a result of the workouts!

How do you find the weekly workout structure and new workouts you get each week as a VIP member

I really love these workouts because each day is different and the exercises are creative.

It’s really helpful having pictures and instructions but I also feel as though I am making the most of my one hour in the gym and really pushing hard rather than just cruising.

That’s why I believe I am getting results along with keeping to a good eating plan.

How do you stay focused and motivated?

Through daily emails, my progress reports – I use the app called body as it lets you load weight, measurements and photos that you can compare.

I also try and do the check in on the VIP members site and read through what others have done to get any tips or support.


I love the affirmations too as it’s about changing your mindset – I have them on my phone “blablabla. go workout”, “skinny girls look good in clothes, fit girls look good naked”.

The photos that show girls at the same weight but completely different body shapes is a mind changer…weights/strength training really works girls.


How do you handle the family meals

My hubbie eats what I eat but in bigger proportions – my daughter is also keen to start the programme as she has put on weight since being at uni and our son is following a similar eating plan – clean diet, whole foods, non processed.

Do you ever have any blowouts with food and if so how did you move forward

Not yet – I can’t believe my blueberry muffin craving has gone, let alone my nightly wine – I feel sooooo good!

I think once you ge rover the 21 day mark, then your discipline kicks in and you get really strict with yourself as you know the amount of work you put in and what has made a difference in your eating.

Tell me about your experiences and interactions on the VIP members site

I like to read what others have done and it keeps me accountable.

All of our stories are relevant and there is something for everyone there.

There are tonnes of resources to browse through and get educated about.

Now I ‘ve got my workmates asking what i’m doing cause they can see the results.

What would you say to anyone who is thinking about starting the Response Mode Program but isn’t sure?

You have nothing to lose except weight or body fat!
