Paulas 20kg Slim Down

YAY I am excited to share Paula’s Transformation Success Story today.

When Paula decided to make a change she just went for it.

Every week on the program Paula was SHRINKING…

Before the program Paula’s body was definitely in Stress Mode.

As soon as she started the program and kick started Response Mode the weight was falling off her at a rapid rate.

For me, I personally have enjoyed Paula’s daily CHECK-INS with her list of meals, workout status and score for each day.

Paula is a real trooper who has a great personality, loves her children and just always seems to be on the go go go.

Even when faced with a few challenges over the year she has come out on top every time with her funny and positive personality and sheer honesty and focus to just do what she can.

Enjoy Paula’s Story, Vix

Tell me about yourself

My name is Paula.

I like to do things backwards.

Met my husband, traveled for 4 years then came home worked, got married and had children.

I am in my 40’s and have 2 young children – One is 7 years old and the younger one is 2 years old.

After having number 2, I was up to 75kg.

For me this is a lot as I am about 5ft 2 in height.

(thats a BMI of 30.4 and considered OBESE)

I was also breastfeeding and wasn’t really watching my quantities.

I maintained this weight for about 2 years as I was walking my son to and from school every day.

What was the turning point that made you decide – YES I am going to change my body and get into shape?

I wasn’t happy with my weight so I tried Weight Watchers online as I was too busy for meetings.

This did not really work for me as I needed a more structured eating plan and accountability.

I hadn’t been happy with my love handles and belly for a long time.

It was not an enjoyable experience trying on clothes and seeing my tummy in the mirror.

Fitness wise – I wasn’t too bad as I was pushing a pushchair up and down a hill twice a day on the way to the school.

I simply didn’t like what I saw in the mirror and deep down didn’t feel very attractive.

One day at play group I asked one Mum how she had lost her baby weight and she mentioned taking part in the Miss Fitness Life Program.

I thought that sounded like a good idea.

I joined up for the Challenge and the rest is history – everything changed for the better.

Another problem I had (probably still have) is I need to see results quickly to keep myself motivated and on track.

This program did that for me.

So how long have you been following a Miss Fitness Life program?

I have now been on the program for 1 year.

I have reached a happy scale weight and am now slowly working towards just Toning more and reducing my body fat%.

I could now leave like I did with other weight loss groups but I am enjoying the support and accountability that is keeping me at scale weight and will help me move towards my next goal.

Tell me about some of the physical changes that you have noticed on the program?

I have experienced lots of physical changes.

My waist is smaller – I can now wear size 9/10 trousers. (I was in 14/15 prior to joining)

My legs are a lot more toned and I can once again wear my knee length boots.

I can also wear togs and not feel the need to wear a towel around my waist to hide my legs and butt.

My tummy is starting to flatten out and tone up too, which will help my back as it often has niggles and twinges.

What are the biggest positive changes you have noticed as a result of the being part of the program?

The biggest positive changes would be having more energy to keep up with 2 crazy boys especially now that I am back at work full-time.

I have to admit, I have also enjoyed all the positive comments about how well I am looking.

I tell everyone it is all because of this program – the structure, accountability, support and … the workouts – of course.

What part of your body did you want to change the most?

Initially I just wanted to lose a lot of weight all over as I was overweight and unhealthy – chest and tummy were the obvious places as I saw them the most.

Currently I would like to tone up my tummy – there is a lot less to work with now. (Haha) so hopefully easier.

Where do you do the members weekly workouts – home or gym and how do you fit them in your schedule?

I workout downstairs in a small part of our basement.

Over the year I have bought a bench and heavier weights as well as some new workout gear.

I was working out in the evenings after I had put my 2 year old to bed but now with full time work I am trying to do some in the morning.

What is your favourite meal on the program?

Haha – Favourite meal – I would make the bliss balls the most and of course all the different smoothies.

I also enjoy making Delina’s Dhal as well as the other approved meals in the recipes guide..

How do you stay focused and motivated?

Facebook memories are useful as they pop up and remind me of how far I have come.

Trying on new clothes or just looking at the new small/size 10 clothes I had to buy helps too.

Also checking in daily to the Miss Fitness Life Workout Club Members Site keeps me accountable.

Being a member and checking in each day always gives me new ideas to try and the support from the ladies and Vix keeps me on track.

How do you handle the family meals?

Being organized and having prepared meals in advance to last over a few nights helps with dinner time.

Prepping meals on the weekend saves a lot of time through the week.

I now also find it easier to make the right choices when eating out.

What would you say to anyone who is thinking about starting the Program but isn’t sure?

I tell people to join this program all the time.

It is so easy to follow.

Its not a diet but a lifestyle.

I have now lost 20kg through this lifestyle.

The reason it is easy to stick with is because it is a complete program.

You have a set out meal plan with quantities and you can cook the food any way you want.

I always tell people about all the different approved meals and recipes and how it was easy to follow and I haven’t really missed out on any foods.

I also love the free choice of a refuel meal on the weekend.

It all makes sense and it works for me.
