How Gina Got ABs in 7 Weeks

WOW I am ALWAYS excited when one of my Miss Fitness Life Workout Club members shares their Progress pics with me

So how impressed was I to see Gina’s AMAZING progress in just 7 weeks

It’s always wonderful to read about people who decide to take action and make a change

and Gina is proof that YES mums with small children can have sexy ABS again

Enjoy my interview with this Hot Mumma, Vix

Tell me a little about yourself

Well, my name is Gina and I am 32 years old.

I am married and have two beautiful children named Campbell 6yrs and Lyla 2yrs.

I am a full time stay at home mum and a part time singer in a duo, trio and band.

This sees me doing some odd hours with early rises with the kids but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

As you can probably guess, I love music, relaxing with the kids, the sound of rain on a tin roof, and lately, smashing out some kick-ass workouts.

The latter is a recent thing for me as previously I used to dread doing any form of exercise but now it’s one of the things I look forward to most in my day to day.

Also the world of nutrition has opened up for me.

Although I thought I was quite healthy with my diet before hand there were things here and there that were letting me down.

Now I’m slowly building my knowledge up of how you can in fact have you cake and eat it too!

I used to think food was the enemy, being a big kid and watching my smaller friends feeding there faces with sausage rolls and pies at school, while I had salad sandwiches and yoghurt.

I just put it down to bad luck.

I was just mean to be bigger.

That was how I was built!

After college I managed to lose a bit of weight and started going to the gym and was able to keep it off for a few years until I met my husband and fell pregnant.

I suddenly found myself going from 65kg to 105kg in 9 short months.

(I think I really enjoyed the food part of pregnancy, that’s for sure).

It took three years to get back to where I wanted to be and then I had my second child and found myself right back at the start again.

I persevered and eventually lost the weight but still didn’t feel comfortable.

I wanted to be fit and make friends with food and show my children what you can do if you really want something.

Then I was scrolling down my feed on Facebook and came across the Miss Fitness Life 14 day slim down challenge.

It was free and from what I read it was something that made sense to me so I thought why not?

I’m never going to become what I want if I don’t change something.

And here I am, talking to you guys and sharing my story!!

Before you joined Response Mode Program how did you feel about yourself?

I felt like I was still hiding behind something.

I wasn’t confident, especially while performing every weekend.

I felt a lot of critical eyes constantly.

They probably weren’t judging me like I thought they were but that’s how it felt.

I didn’t want to have to worry about sucking my guts in while I was trying to sing, plus I wanted more energy so I could give more in each performance.

I also felt like I was stuck in a rut with my diet and although, trying to be careful with food, I just didn’t seem to be getting that change in shape and toned strong body that I was after.

I also found myself with a constant sore back, not sleeping properly, and skin issues.

I started to just put it down to the fact I was just getting older haha!
What was the turning point that made you decide – YES I am going to change my body and get into shape

As I stated earlier, seeing the post on Facebook from Miss Fitness Life was exactly what I was in need of.

I saw the pictures of previous challenge go-ers and thought, you know what I CAN do this too, I want to look fit like them too, what’s the worst that can happen?

I might stay exactly where I am?

Dive in give it a crack and just see what happens.

So how long have you been following the Response Mode Program?

I think it’s 7 weeks now! So not long in the big scheme of things.

Tell me about some of physical changes that you have noticed on the program?

TONE!! That is the biggest thing.

Never thought I’d be able to start channelling a six pack, that’s for sure.

I am just starting to look fitter all round really.

I have more energy, feel stronger, I am sleeping better and my skin is probably the best it has been in years.

It’s super exciting too, to think this is just the beginning and there are more results to come.

What are the biggest positive changes you have noticed as a result of the being part of the program?

My state of mind and how I see myself.

I was mainly known for being a glass half empty kind of girl but with this program you are not just working on the physical but also on your own attitudes towards your body and how you see yourself.

This I think , for me, was nearly more important than the physical, although it is super nice being able to wear clothes you like and feel awesome.

Positivity is key!!

What part of your body did you want to change the most?

Probably my belly.

As a lot of women that have had children find, after the birth of their baby, getting that flat toned tummy is one thing that takes quite a long time.

I had stretch marks and loose skin still but as the weeks fly by its coming back to where it should be.

I figure the longer the road takes the longer the results will last, but I have to be determined to get there.

And I definitely am!

Where do you do your workouts – home or gym and how do you fit them in your schedule esp with a little one’s running around

Although I have been to gyms before, I live out of town and needed something I could do at home.

I do my workouts at home mainly in the morning after I’ve dropped my son at school.

Then I pop a little dvd on for Lyla to watch and get stuck into the workout.

Most of the time though Lyla comes in with me and does exercise along side me, very cute haha.

How do you find the weekly workout structure and new workouts you get each week as a VIP member

Love, love, love it!!

You have the option to go as easy or hard as you like, depending on your fitness level, and the workouts are awesome.

It’s constantly switching up which is great for me as I tend to get bored with things quite quickly if they don’t change.

How do you stay focused and motivated?

I have a vision board of things I want to achieve, pictures of the type of physique I am aiming for, fresh fruits and veg and encouraging, positive words.

This encourages me to push harder when working out and get creative in the kitchen.

Also, getting compliments from people I talk to, asking what have I been doing lately, makes me feel great.

And I definitely want to keep that feeling.

Most importantly I just have to look at my children and husband for inspiration.

They definitely keep me going.

How do you handle the family meals

I’m very very lucky that I have two kids and a husband who will eat most veggies.

They are willing to try all these new dishes I’ve been serving up which is great.

There have been a few ‘misses’ but the majority have been ‘winners’.

Our theory is we don’t mind if you don’t like something but you should at least try it first in case you’re missing something great.

Do you ever have any blowouts with food and if so how did you move forward

Yeah I definitely have blowouts from time to time.

I don’t think you would be human if you didn’t.

To move on though I just look at how far I have come and go back to the reasons I’m doing it and the way I want to feel and look.

Usually that’s motivation enough to get back on track.

Also talking it out on the Miss Fitness Life VIP members site with other women who are going through the same thing helps immensely.

Tell me about your experiences and interactions on the VIP members site

As I was saying previously, I love that when you need to know something or just get things off your chest you can, 24/7.

You never get bored with food as there are so many recipes that you can access.

You are accountable when you login and share your day, workout/meals.

You are not judged but helped in the right direction to achieve your goals.

And it’s just a super positive place to head when you need that boost.

What would you say to anyone who is thinking about starting the Response Mode Program but isn’t sure?

I would say to anyone even slightly thinking of starting the Response Mode Program, just do it!

What are you waiting for?

You deserve to look better, feel more confident, super strong, enjoy life in every way possible.

Give it a go!

Instead of asking yourself ‘What if it doesn’t work?’, ask yourself ‘What if it does?’.

Give yourself one of the biggest gifts you can: A wonderful energetic life full of opportunity, fun and happiness!

Thanks heaps for such a great opportunity, Gina
